The institution has implemented significant infrastructural changes to harmonize modern education with environmental preservation. To minimize our carbon footprint, we have transitioned to a Minimal Paper Utilization model, with a goal of reaching a Paperless Administration Model; utilizing advanced online management systems for internal communication, examinations, and student records. Our campus features a robust Rainwater Harvesting system that recharges the local groundwater table, alongside Pipe Composting units and vermicomposting pits that convert organic canteen and garden waste into nutrient-rich manure. Furthermore, the installation of LED lighting and the phased transition to solar energy reflect our proactive approach toward energy conservation.
Beyond the campus gates, the college leads the way in environmental advocacy through its NSS, NCC, and Sanjeevini Club units. We conduct frequent “Vanamahotsava” programs, beach cleaning drives along the Udupi coastline, and plastic-free awareness campaigns in adopted villages. On-campus, students are actively involved in maintaining the Sanjeevini Medicinal Garden and participating in the “Plant-a-Week” initiative. By integrating these green practices into the daily lives of our students, Poornaprajna College ensures that every graduate leaves not just with a degree, but as a responsible steward of the planet.
