College Council

The College Council serves as the primary internal advisory and administrative body of Poornaprajna College, Udupi. It is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of academic policies, maintaining campus discipline, and overseeing the overall welfare of the student community. Composed of the Principal and the Heads of all Departments, the Council meets regularly to deliberate on institutional progress and coordinates the various activities that define our campus life.


Composition of the Council

The Council is led by the Principal and supported by a dedicated team of academic leaders:

  • Chairman: Dr. Ramu L., Principal.

  • Secretary: A senior faculty member appointed by the Council.

  • Members: All Heads of Departments (Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management).

 

Key Responsibilities

The Council plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day and long-term functioning of the institution:

  • Academic Planning: Framing the academic calendar, internal examination schedules, and departmental workloads.

  • Student Welfare: Addressing student concerns and overseeing the implementation of extracurricular and co-curricular programs.

  • Disciplinary Oversight: Maintaining the code of conduct on campus to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

  • Policy Implementation: Acting as a bridge between the Udupi Sri Admar Mutt Education Council and the faculty to implement management decisions.

  • IQAC Support: Collaborating with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell to sustain the high standards required for our NAAC ‘A+’ accreditation.


Internal Committee Liaison

The College Council also provides oversight for several specialized committees, including:

  • Admission Committee: Overseeing the transparent and merit-based enrollment process.

  • Library Committee: Advising on the acquisition of digital and print resources.

  • Grievance Redressal Cell: Providing a formal platform for the fair resolution of student and staff concerns.
