IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Poornaprajna College (PPC), Udupi, was established on October 5, 2004. It serves as the primary body for maintaining and enhancing the academic and administrative standards of the college.

Key Objectives and Functions

The IQAC at Poornaprajna College operates with the following goals:

  • Quality Benchmarking: Developing and applying quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.

  • Learner-Centric Environment: Facilitating the creation of a student-centered environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation.

  • Feedback Systems: Collecting and analyzing feedback from students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding institutional processes.

  • Accreditation Documentation: Serving as the nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities, including the preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC.

Recent Achievements & Accreditation

  • NAAC Grading: Under the guidance of the IQAC, Poornaprajna College was re-accredited by NAAC with an ‘A+’ Grade (CGPA of 3.27) in its 4th cycle (starting 2022).

  • Awards: The college was previously honored with the “Award of Excellence” by the Udupi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, a recognition supported by the quality initiatives driven by the IQAC.

Activities & Initiatives

The cell frequently collaborates with various departments to organize:

  • Workshops and Seminars: Focused on quality improvement, soft skills, and technical skill development.

  • ICT Integration: Promoting the use of modern teaching aids like projectors, audio-visual gadgets, and Wi-Fi-enabled learning.

  • Co-curricular Support: Coordinating with the NCC, NSS, and Women’s Cell to ensure holistic student development alongside academics.

Leadership

The IQAC is typically chaired by the Principal (currently Dr. Ramu L.) and includes a coordinator, senior faculty members, representatives from the management (Udupi Shree Admar Mutt Education Council), and student/alumni representatives.
