The Department of Kannada at Poornaprajna College is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of Karnataka (ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ). As the regional language department, it plays a vital role in connecting students with the profound literary traditions of the land, ranging from ancient Halegannada (ಹಳಗನ್ನಡ – Old Kannada) to contemporary Hosagannada (ಹೊಸಗನ್ನಡ – Modern Kannada). • Sahitya Adhyayana (ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ – Literary Studies): A detailed exploration of Pampa (ಪಂಪ), Ranna (ರನ್ನ), and the Vachana (ವಚನ) literature of the 12th century.
