The Department of Sanskrit at Poornaprajna College is dedicated to the study of Girvana Vani (गीर्वाणवाणी – The Language of the Gods), the ancient fountainhead of Indian wisdom. The department aims to bridge the gap between traditional Vedic knowledge and modern scientific inquiry. Students are introduced to the vast treasures of Samskrita Sahitya (संस्कृत साहित्य – Sanskrit Literature), ranging from the epic Itihasas (इतिहास – Histories) to classical Natakas (नाटक – Dramas). Under the spiritual patronage of the Admar Mutt, the department fosters an environment where linguistic precision meets ethical grounding.

• Kavya Adhyayana (काव्य ಅಧ್ಯಯನ – Study of Poetry): Exploring the rhythmic beauty of Mahakavyas (महाकाव्य – Great Epics) like those of Kalidasa (कालिदास).

• Subhashita Manjari (सुभाषित मञ्जरी – Collection of Wise Sayings): A focus on short, pithy verses that teach moral values (Niti) and worldly wisdom.
